Man Wanted in Fort Worth After Fatal Pedestrian Accident

At approximately 9:50 p.m. on August 12, 2022, a pedestrian was killed while legally crossing Vaughn Boulevard at Avenue H. The driver left the scene of the accident. The 74-year-old male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the location of the accident and was pronounced dead by authorities with the Dallas Medical Examiner’s office.

Witnesses report that the driver, who officers have still not located, was heading northbound when the accident occurred. The grandson’s victim discovered him steps from his home. The grandson, who has not been able to leave his room since the accident, said his grandfather liked to take nightly walks to avoid the sun’s brutal heat.

Wrongful Death is a Tragedy That Should Always End in Compensation for the Victim’s Family

The grandchildren planned to leave on Monday to take their grandparents, who had been married for 51 years, to Las Vegas to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Now, they must plan a funeral for this grandfather of 10, who had another grandchild on the way. The Fort Worth Police Department released footage of the dark-colored SUV, and they are asking the public to help them locate the vehicle. Officers are investigating the case as a fatal hit-and-run accident.

The family created an online account to help pay for the funeral expenses, but the person who really should pay is the driver who caused this pedestrian. The family says they miss their grandfather sitting on his porch, drinking tea and giving advice. They say they also miss seeing him drive by as he checked on things. A personal injury lawyer may be able to help them receive the compensation they deserve in this case.
