Fort Worth Officer Injured By Potentially Drunk Driver

A Fort Worth Police Department officer was transported to the hospital after a suspected drunk driver hit his squad car on June 18, 2022. The car accident occurred on the southbound side of the Lake Worth Bridge near the intersection of Northwest Loop 820 and Cahoba Drive, where the officer had pulled over with his lights on to assist a stranded motorist.

While the officer was in his car, a drunk driver in a pickup truck rear-ended the squad car, which went spinning and ended up facing in the wrong direction after hitting the opposite side concrete barrier. As the squad car traveled across four lanes of traffic, it also hit the car of a passing motorist. The police officer was transported to Texas Health Harris Hospital while the driver was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital.

At least three people may need the services of a competent personal injury lawyer in this case, and there may be others. At a minimum, the city will have damage to their squad car, the hit car will have damage, and the stranded motorist may have damages from witnessing the accident. All three can benefit from personal injury lawyers who can fight to get them the medical care they need.

These individuals may also need to fight to replace their personal property and automobiles.
