5 Killed in Slew of Dallas Car Accidents

Driving in Dallas during the early morning hours on Thanksgiving turned into a deadly proposition when at least three car accidents caused deaths in the Metroplex, according to officials with the Dallas Police Department.

Interstate 30 Accident Leaves Two Dead

The first accident was reported at about 12:09 a.m. on Interstate 30 near Dolphin Road. While police officers did not show up for 17 minutes, when they arrived, they were informed by first responders with the Fort Worth Fire Department that two people were dead and two others were severely injured.

They say the two deceased individuals were a 46-year-old woman and a 45-year-old woman in a 1998 gold Toyota Camry. Authorities transported the front-seat passenger to a local hospital.

Police officers arrested the man driving the vehicle on charges of intoxicated manslaughter.

Good Latimer Expressway Accident Claims Two Lives

At 2:16 a.m., officers responded to an accident in the 1600 block of South Good Latimer Expressway. Police say the driver lost control of his vehicle and struck a building before hitting an electrical pole.

The gray 2015 BMW M4 then burst into flames. Officials with Dallas Fire Rescue pronounced both men involved in the accident dead at the scene.

Interstate 30 Accident Happens in Front of Officers

The third car accident occurred on the eastbound entrance ramp to Interstate 30 near Grand Avenue at 3:51 a.m. While investigating the service call, they observed a beige 1999 Toyota Tacoma slam into the back of a white tractor-trailer. The driver of the Toyota was pinned in the vehicle, and officers broke the window of the Toyota and found the driver unresponsive.

Upon arrival at the scene, Fort Worth Fire Rescue officers pronounced the driver deceased. First responders transported a 33-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man from the tractor-trailer to Baylor Scott Medical Center while a third occupant remained on the scene.
