Woman Killed After Several Vehicles Strike Her on Carrollton Tollway
Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety say that a 30-year-old woman was killed about 10 p.m. on Sam Rayburn Tollway, near the Hebron Parkway exit. She was first struck by a 2019 Nissan Titan before being hit multiple times by other vehicles.
A person with the Denton County Medical Examiner’s office was called to the devastating pedestrian accident scene near Carrollton and pronounced the woman dead. Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety say that the first driver, 50-year-old Matthew Jackson Jr. stayed near the scene of March 4, 2023, accident, but other drivers left the accident scene. They say the law considers each time she was hit a separate accident, but they are still trying to determine the number of times she was hit. Police have not stated why the woman was walking in the road’s northbound lanes.
Consequences of Pedestrian Accidents
As in this case, pedestrian accidents can have deadly consequences. Even if you are not the person walking, there can be damage to your vehicle, which can be costly to repair. Unfortunately, the victim’s family will have to live with the loss of a loved one, bury the young woman, and find a way to continue their lives without her support.
No one expects something like this to happen to them but pedestrian, car accidents, and other incidents can easily change anyone’s life in an instant. If this scenario sounds like something you have experienced, you need a personal injury lawyer.
