Police Pursuit Ends in Tragic Hit-and-Run Accident

A man in a car shooting at someone along Darby Drive in Dallas, hit a female pedestrian. The accident occurred near Clarendon Drive and Marsalis Avenue. The driver of the hit-and-run vehicle was not injured.

According to officials with the Dallas Police Department, the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle and the woman had a verbal disagreement in the 800 block of Darby Drive at approximately 1:30 a.m. An acquaintance of the woman approached the argument, and the vehicle’s driver started shooting.

Then, the man got in the car. He left the scene but struck the female pedestrian sitting on the curb and had nothing to do with the argument. The hit-and-run driver fled the scene going south on Denley Drive. Later in the day on September 13, Dallas Police Department officials said that the hit-and-run driver was driving a black 2017-2018 Hyundai with its front grill missing.

Woman Sitting on Curb Hit by Hit-and-run Driver

First responders took the woman to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The cost of a hit-and-run accident like this one can mount up quickly. Families still have to pay the victim’s woman’s hospital bills on top of funeral expenses.

A family involved in a wrongful death would also have lost income if the victim had a job. It is also possible that one or more properties received property damage.
