Dallas Police Officer Killed in Wrong-Way Crash
On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, Dallas Police Officer Jacob Arellano was killed on his way to work by a driver going in the wrong direction on Spur 408 in South Dallas. The wrong-way driver received minor injuries in the accident, and first responders transported her to Parkland Hospital.
Allegedly, the driver hit the front left corner of the officer’s vehicle while he was driving in the middle lane, and the impact sent the officer’s car to the right and into the path of an oncoming semi. First responders took the officer to a local hospital, where Officer Arellano succumbed to head injuries.

The 31-year-old driver was later released from the hospital and booked into jail on charges of intoxicated manslaughter. The 25-year-old officer leaves behind a three-year-old son and his girlfriend.
His field trainer described him as a gentle giant who was so determined to become a Dallas police officer that he lost over 100 pounds so that he could qualify. Police say that Rebollar’s blood alcohol level at the time of the accident was two to three times the legal limit.
Compensation for the Family
This hero will not be here to raise his young child; therefore, that costly experience falls to someone else who deserves compensation for the time and expenses endured while raising a child.
The officer’s family held a funeral in Richardson, Texas, before his family and Dallas Police Department officials buried him in El Paso, Texas during a private ceremony. The average funeral cost in the United States is over $7,000, and the family will have to pay for those expenses. A personal injury lawyer can help you get the financial help you need by fighting for your right to compensation after your pain and suffering.
