DUI Driving Suspect Rear Ends Fort Worth Police Officer

An officer with the West Division Fort Worth police parked his patrol car behind a stranded motorist with his emergency lights going near the intersection of Northwest Loop 820 and Cahoba Drive on June 17, 2022.

Seemingly out of nowhere, a pickup truck struck his patrol vehicle from the rear. The officer was in the vehicle at the time of the truck accident, which sent the patrol car across four lanes of traffic, where it struck a concrete barrier.

The patrol car ended up heading in the wrong direction. Additionally, another vehicle was hit during the accident, but the vehicle’s driver did not sustain injuries. First responders took the officer to Texas Health Harris Hospital and the pickup driver to John Peter Smith Hospital. Officers believe that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Truck Accidents Leave Victims With Injuries and Costly Medical Bills

It can often be challenging to sort out precisely what happens during Fort Worth car accidents, especially DUI accidents, where drivers often act erratically. Yet, after the accident occurs, medical bills and lost wages need to be covered.

Furthermore, drivers and the police department must replace the vehicles or get them repaired. Therefore, you must contact a Dallas personal injury lawyer as soon as possible. Often, victims accumulate ongoing medical bills. It is vital that everyone involved in this tragic accident receives the compensation they need to continue with their lives.
