Pedestrian Accident Kills One in Dallas

If you or a loved one was injured or lost their life in a pedestrian accident, talk to a personal injury lawyer. We’ll help make a claim for your compensation.

Pedestrian Accident Kills One in Dallas

On December 4th, at nearly midnight, a woman was struck and killed as she was crossing the road at Oak Lawn and Maple Avenues. The 44-year-old woman was not in the crosswalk when she was struck by the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene, Police officers noted on the accident report that the driver of the vehicle “did not show the skills or knowledge to safely operate a motor vehicle on a public roadway in the state of Texas.”

No additional information about the status of the driver is known at this time.

Pedestrian Accidents Can Be Complex Issues

As you can see in the story above, a pedestrian accident can quickly become a complex issue. Investigators must determine who was at fault for this event and why it happened. It must be understood that just because the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk does not automatically mean that the accident was her fault. It should also be understood that the comment that the police made about the driver may only reflect that he was a new or inexperienced driver and not necessarily an unlicensed driver.

Dallas pedestrian accidents must be carefully investigated so that the responsible party can be determined. Determining who is at fault for the accident will allow the injured party to make a claim for compensation.
