Denton Pedestrian Accident Death

Police Search for Suspect After Deadly Pedestrian Accident

This Thanksgiving turned tragic when a 62-year-old male was struck by a vehicle in Denton. The pedestrian accident occurred at around 9 p.m. on Nov. 24, near University Drive and Bell Avenue.

After the hit-and-run accident, the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he passed away.

Police Ask for Help in Apprehending the Hit-and-Run Suspect

As this is a hit-and-run accident, it’s going to take some time to track down and bring the suspect to justice. Denton police ask that any witnesses to the accident bring them any information about the accident.

So far, the vehicle was described as a 2007-2009 Hyundai Elantra. The vehicle is an unknown color but may have visible front-end damage.

The police ask that anyone with information reach out to 940-349-8181 and ask for a traffic investigator or supervisor.

How Deadly Are Pedestrian Accidents?

Pedestrian accidents are one of the most deadly types of accidents on the road. In pedestrian accidents, there is a very high chance of severe injuries or death because pedestrians have no protection from the impact of a car.

The majority of pedestrian accidents happen at night, and many involve alcohol. Pedestrians are also more likely to be killed in pedestrian accidents if they are wearing dark clothing.

If you are a pedestrian, it is important to be aware of these risks and take steps to protect yourself. Make sure to cross the street at designated crosswalks and walk facing traffic so that drivers can see you, and always be cautious when walking near roadways.
