Tomball Motorcycle Accident Kills One

On December 24, around 7:30 pm, a motorcycle accident involving two vehicles occurred in Tomball, leaving one person dead. The accident happened when a Nissan Altima made a U-turn on Spring Cypress Road and hit the motorcycle already moving westbound. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Altima fled the scene, and the accident remains under investigation.

Motorcycle Accidents Are Often Fatal Events

Motorcyclists often suffer life-altering injuries when involved in a car accident. Sadly, in many cases, they are also the victim of wrongful death when a motorcycle accident occurs. Each year over 500 people lose their lives in motorcycle-related accidents.

Victims of these accidents face large medical bills and financial losses due to these catastrophic injuries, and many families who endure the loss of a loved one in an accident may not have anywhere to turn for help. This is why it is essential for anyone involved in a motorcycle accident or who has lost a loved one in one of these events to contact a personal injury lawyer.

Speak With A Dallas Attorney About Your Personal Injury

One of the main reasons that you should speak with a personal injury attorney when you are involved in a motorcycle accident is to protect your rights. Insurance companies are quick to place the blame for these accidents or their severity on the motorcyclists, even if it is apparent that they are not the cause of the event.

Motorcyclists need to have their rights protected so that they receive the same fair treatment from the insurance companies as those involved in other car accidents. A personal injury attorney will ensure that your case is handled fairly and that you receive the maximum compensation for your losses.

Injury victims may be entitled to one or more of the following types of compensation:

  • Medical expenses both current and future for accident-related injuries
  • Loss of income and benefits
  • Future earning potential
  • Pain and suffering
  • Related expenses such as renovating home or vehicle to accommodate injury

Some family members may also be able to seek a wrongful death suit based on the information of the case. It would be important to speak with a personal injury lawyer to determine what type of case and compensation can be sought for this accident.
